General Education Program

The APU Core: Pathways to Flourishing

APU’s general education (GE) program is titled The APU Core: Pathways to Flourishing and has three components: Pursuing Wisdom, Preparing to Serve, and Living Out God’s Love. The APU Core leads students on a transformational journey that prepares them to impact the world for Christ. For more information on GE requirements, see the following catalog pages:

GE Requirements for Transfer Students

Students transferring to Azusa Pacific University may have some of their general education requirements met by courses taken at their previous institution(s). Additionally, certain GE requirements may be waived depending on the number of units transferred to APU, or based on completion of Cal-GETC, IGETC, CSU Breadth, or an ADN. See the general education policies for traditional undergraduate transfer students or professional undergraduate transfer students for more details.

Current Students Transferring in GE Coursework

Current students seeking to transfer in coursework from other colleges and universities must verify with the Student Services Center whether those courses will be accepted for general education credit. The policy for transferring credits to meet general education requirements is available on the Student Services Center website.

Any questions about the application of transfer courses for course requirements should be directed to the Academic Success Center (for traditional undergraduate students) or the Office of the Registrar (for professional undergraduate students).
