General Education Information for Transfer Students

Traditional Undergraduate (Azusa) Students

Students transferring to Azusa Pacific University may have some of their general education (GE) requirements met by courses taken at their previous institution(s). Additionally, certain GE requirements may be waived depending on the number of units transferred to APU, or based on completion of Cal-GETC, IGETC, or CSU Breadth.

For traditional undergraduate students, transfer work evaluation is conducted by the Student Services Center. All students are encouraged to work with the center and with their academic advisor to determine their general education (GE) requirements. While the charts below serve as guides, it is the responsibility of the student to ensure that all requirements are met. For the most current information, visit the Academic Success Center.

GENERAL TRANSFER

The following GE requirements are WAIVED for transfer students based on the number of units transferred in. Other courses may transfer for GE credit on an individual basis. In addition, students who enter APU with at least 30 transfer units are NOT required to choose a Visions of the Good Life course to satisfy one of the four humanities requirements (Fine Arts, History, Literature, or Philosophy).
